Curing, helping migraines & headaches

Trigger headaches

There is a cause for everything. Nothing happens by chance. It may be that you do not know the cause for certain things or that you never get to find out, but this does not mean there is no cause for it.

Headaches and migraines are complex problems to deal with. In this forum, you will be reading lots of old and new natural methods for getting rid of headaches. To begin with, I want to address a simple and basic way of trying to get rid of your headaches.

Long term causes

Quite a few people who suffer from migraines will find that if they sat down and thought deeply about when it all began, they can probably pin-point it to a certain time.

I have seen this time and time again in people. For example, a woman who had been suffering from migraines for over 20 years, when questioned, narrowed it down to when her husband was badly injured during the Cyprus war with Turkey.

Another woman could pin-point the start of her migraine to the death of her husband.

These long term migraines can be treated if one could find the initial cause for them and deal with that cause. If you think you can, then it is worth a try to sit down and try and remember the exact start.

The most likely course of action then is some form of “mind” healing. You may have to go under hypnosis or see a counsellor or someone who can delve into your mind and try and “undo” the problems in there.

This is one of the most effective ways of trying to heal long-term migraines, cased by mental torment of some sort.

Short term of continuous causes of headaches

This may be in addition or instead of the above. You may find that you get headaches from time to time for no reason or every day for no reason. As I said above, there is no such thing as “no reason”. There is always a “cause” for everything. You just have to try and find out what it is.

One of the best ways of doing this is to keep a diary of events. This diary needs to contain everything from your foods, snacks, drinks to what you did that day, stress levels, encounters with other people, contact with certain materials, exercise levels, clothing worn, people you spoke to and so on.

It may sound like a lot of work but I promise you that it is 100% worth doing. You will then have to start noting down the times you get the headaches. If you then compare your notes, 90% of the times you will start seeing a correlation. This can be something very straightforward or something a bit more “elusive”. Here are some examples of triggers for headaches:

• Certain foods, drinks, fruits – can be anything for different people: chocolate, wine, cheese, tomatoes
• Conversations with specific people – Mother? Brother etc
• Stress levels that day. What stressed you? How can you avoid it, change things?
• Lack of exercise – Do you get headaches on days you exercise, or don’t exercise?
• Did you get a headache when you wore a specific type of jewellery? Certain perfume?

The above are just some examples. I have seen many “headache diaries” and it never ceases to amaze me to see a DEFINITE correlation between headaches and certain “things” noted.

Do this please and see what happens. You will be pleased you did.

Quick headache fix:

Headaches can have many causes. If you have a frontal headache that has just appeared, try putting your thumb against the top of the roof of your mouth and keep it there for a minute. Press a bit and press the areas around.

You can also try massaging the area to the bottom of your hairline and pressing and rotating your fingers there for a few minutes.
