How to succeed by tweaking "perfect"

September 9, 2017

Why are so many people in their 30s and 40s unmarried? Because they are looking for “perfect”! Same goes for entrepreneurs and people who want to succeed and just don’t know how to get that balance right. Firstly, in my humble opinion, there is no such thing as perfection. In choosing your partner, I would say go for 80%+ of your perfect ideal if you are still alone! But that’s not my area of expertise - just my opinion! In business, my own preference has always been to aim for perfection but always be wary of time constraints. I will give you an example. I have worked with very talented designers that take an eternity to come up with something (perfectionists). I have also worked with talented designers that get close to perfect but get the job done fast and move on to the next/other projects. The latter are always more successful! I will give you another example. A few years ago, my team and I came up with a beautiful libido boosting pill. Over the course of 5 years, we sold many and did quite well with it. A good friend of mine was also developing a libido boosting pill. 5 years after I launched mine, he was still looking to perfect it and had made no money out of his efforts! I am not saying not to get things perfect. What I am saying is that if you want to be successful in business (or life), between perfect v speed, you must lean more towards speed. And you must accept that sometimes, there is no perfect ANYTHING and life is too short to be wasted on looking for perfect. Successful people, know this balance. If you practice and always have your eye on time and make sure you are more fast, than perfect, you will probably be more successful. Same goes for a life partner. Instead of looking for perfect, which may never come, you may be wise to try someone 80-90% perfect and have some nice shared experiences in what would have otherwise been lonely times!!😃
