Is your glass half full or empty?

Have you heard the saying about the glass half empty or half full? Do you truly understand what it means?

Having known a great many successful people, I can assure you that 99.9% of them always see the glass half full. What does this mean? Let’s say you have bad eyesight in one eye. Unsuccessful people see it as a disability and see themselves as “oh, I have one bad eye”. Successful people see it as “great, I have one good eye”. Let’s say you started a business and it didn’t do well initially and you gave up. Unsuccessful people will see it as “oh man, I couldn’t go all the way and I didn’t make it. I have to give up”. Success-minded people will see it as “right, now I am halfway there, so what do I need to do to get all the way there?” Let’s say you ask a girl out and you go out with her once and she never calls you back.

Unsuccessful people will say “I was so close, I could have got her. What did I do wrong?” Success-minded people will say: “Right, she obviously liked me and probably still likes me and out of everyone, has gone out with me, so what can I do now to get another date?" Do you get the drift? You have to train your mind to ALWAYS see the glass as half full and go on to fill the rest. If you want to be successful in everything, there is no other choice.

Once you have set the goal to have a full glass in everything, NEVER see it as half empty. Always see it as halfway there, then what do you need to do to get all the way there? Remember, if you don’t try, you don’t get. If you don’t plan, you don’t get. If you don’t persist, you don’t get.
