Who should you listen to?
I wish someone had given me “golden” advice when I was younger. When you are emotional or you are trying to better yourself, sometimes you miss a very obvious thing. That obvious thing is that if someone claims to be a specialist in something and can help you, you need to look at their track record very closely. NEVER listen to their words. I can tell you so many stories about people I have met over the last 20 years that claim so much and actually have no experience in delivering results in their claimed vocation.
If you want to succeed and reach your goals, it is always best to do it yourself. If for whatever reason your cannot do certain things, never trust someone based on what they tell you. Always ask for statistics to back their claims and check for delivered results. The amount of people that get in touch with me wanting to do my social media and they have less than 200 followers on various platforms is comical. 🙄 Or people who claim they can take one of my companies through the roof but were fired from their last job for doing exactly the opposite. Or so-called SEO specialists that send the same standard template to everyone telling them their SEO rating is in the red. On the opposite, I really admire some of the people that message me. They are not full of this usual BS. They say they like my posts and want to have a coffee with me to pick my brain or learn something. At least they are honest. And I am honest with them, telling them I am busy! 😃
Honesty is so hard to come by these days. Everyone is hustling and pretending to be something they are not. It’s sad. Do yourself a favour and don’t trust anyone unless they have proven what they say. Their images on Instagram, their perceived worth (backed up only by them!) or their fake CV are not reasons to trust their word.
