Why people feel good telling you that you're going to fail!

I started a new project a couple of weeks ago and it really reminded me of how people’s negativity can be such a bad influence. The project is called The Foto collection and it is in its infancy. However, you will not believe just how many people told me it will fail. And we are talking about ME! Someone who has proven success time and time again.

This all took me back to 1997 when I started my first multi-million pound company LA Muscle. So many people were telling me I would fail and that I should stick to being a lawyer. And I am not talking about strangers! I am talking about my friends, my own mum!!! They all said it will not succeed.

Fast forward to The Foto Collection. A project that I am very passionate about (as you should be with anything you want to succeed) and a project that will take probably 1-2 years to get to where I want it to be. And the objections and criticisms are strong. If I was anyone else, I would be influenced by it and even abandon it. Never mind that it has already made me money and I haven’t even launched it yet!

So, if you are passionate about something and you have a vision, you should probably not listen to other people much. They will not have your passion or vision. Of course, you will need focus and have guts and determination but if you keep at it, you will get there. Don’t be swayed by other people. Don’t let them chip away at your confidence.

As I approach 50, I am taking my photography more seriously and hence The Foto Collection. Follow the journey on www.thefotocollection.com
